City Vaalwater

In the heart of the Waterberg region in the Limpopo province there is the charming small town Vaalwater / Mabatlane. Surrounded by farmland, nature reserves, mountains and game reserves, travellers come and go, especially those who want to reside in the impressive Waterberg area.

The Waterberg area is first in the north of South Africa declared as a bio sphere reserve by UNESCO.

Vaalwater is named after the mountain bearing the same name and extending about 150 km from the west to the east connecting Thambazimbi with Mokopane. There are many rivers, streams and marshes. These Water Mountains have glamour to attract humans and also animals. You can look for some of the Big 5; big game that you can find is giraffe, wildebeest and the white rhinoceros. The northern and western regions of Limpopo offer good opportunities for hunting game and Vaalwater endorses it. Waterberg Bushveld has 5 self-drive routes to explore this area well. It includes the routes around Lephalale and the area between Thabazimbi to Alldays
