Outdoor Restaurants

Outdoor restaurants with sea views in and around Cape Town

From the beach to the restaurant, Cape Town provides the ultimate summer feeling.

During the summer months, sun and sea lovers flock to Cape Town to enjoy the world's best beaches and beautiful sea views. But we get tired of sunbathing! Not to mention hungry! Dive into the Cape wave of outdoor restaurants and indulge in seafood, cocktails, salads and red wine, "because you're worth it."

The Bascule Whisky, Wine & Cocktail Bar
Named "Best Pub Style" at the V & A Restaurants Awards in 2009. The Bascule Whisky, Wine & Cocktail Bar is a sunny spot at the Cape Grace Hotel in the V & A Waterfront. Around sunset it transforms this very pleasant lunch restaurant in a glamorous bar. Flop down on the leather sofas and make a choice from the largest selection of whiskey in the southern hemisphere. On Tuesday you step in here for the whiskey and fondue evening. On Wednesday you can cool off while enjoying live music.

La Med
This is for the ultimate summer day. Let the hours pass quietly with a cold beer on the beach and at sunset the casual beach bar in La Med for a nutritious meal, a sweet cocktail and fabulous sea views. La Med is the place to end your day on the beach and cooling off in style. If Mojitos brings back your energy you can dance in your with the happy beats of the DJ.

Cafe Caprice
Bubbly, cocktails, celebrities (and attitude). The much more effective Cafe Caprice in our opinion does not need to be described. With sexy house music, the better alcohol and phenomenal sea, Caprice attracts local and international guests to the promenade of Camps Bay like a magnet. The restaurant on the first floor is intimate and has a varied menu.

Azure Restaurant at the Twelve Apostles Hotel and Spa
Because fairy tales do exist! With the appearance of the menu and its location is enough to attract beach lovers in Cape Town. But at the moment you can nest in the luxurious leather seats, sniff the salty sea air, you know you are going to come back for this menu! Chef Roberto de Carvalho drudges happy in the kitchen. Meat, fish and vegetarian delights including Cape Malay fish or natural Fynbos desserts.

This is a stylish and chic hotspot in Mouille Point. Wafu provides a panoramic view of the coast. The bar is decorated with exotic fish and abalone shells to keep the summer mood. What is not difficult in a location where you can hear, see and smell the waves. Push for Asian tapas with European and Western influences. Do not enter the door unless you are having an exotic cocktail after dinner.

2nd Floor | Corner of Beach Road and Surrey Place | Mouille Point | Cape Town | +27 (0) 21 433 2377

From the comfortable lounge you look out at the V & A Waterfront, you nibble on Italian tapas and you give yourself to the greater South African wines and cocktails. On Friday nights Cosmopolitan cocktails and Mojitos are only R20. Drink your drink quietly and marvel at the lounge tunes by DJ Mey.

La Mizu Beach Bar
After a day of pampering, want to properly say goodbye to Cape Town? Wave goodbye to the sun as it sets behind the ocean from the terrace of La Mizu Bar. La Mizu Beach Bar is right on the beach with stunning views of Table Mountain. The terrace is the ideal setting for your freshly made cocktail quietly slurping away while observing the sunset (with the necessary sentiment).

Lagoon Gate Drive | Milnerton | Cape Town | +27 (0) 21 528 2000

On the Rocks Bloubergstrand
With warm waves crashing at your feet while you lick your fingers with a tasty salmon trout? On the Rocks Bloubergstrand surpasses postcard view. Your salmon trout served with artichokes, mixed vegetables, olive oil and mustard dressing. Of course you will find many more dishes on the menu.

45 Stadler Road | Bloubergstrand | Cape Town | +27 (0) 21 554 1988

Moyo Blouberg
Traditions and warm African hospitality characterize Moyo. Located on the Bloubergstrand and with views of Table Mountain and Robben Island, this is the kind of place where you realize that it is time to 'write home about'. The staff wears traditional costumes. To get in the mood let them paint your face.
